Colors and moods . . .

Colors and moods . . .

Have you ever thought about the effect colors have on your mood?

While enjoying a bit of “people watching” I’ve noticed how mothers of preschoolers are often dressed in the same color as their child. I wonder if their mood affected what color they picked out to wear that day, and likewise chose to put on their child, who was too young to pick out their own clothes.

An article in a home decorating magazine  suggests if you want your company to leave early, paint your living room blue. If you want your company to stay a while, paint it pink!

This spring I’ve “fallen in love” with using splashes of hot pink in my artwork. I read this in an article from colorpsychology.org. “Hot Pink is often associated with fun, excitement, and a bold approach to life. It symbolizes confidence, youthful energy, and a sense of adventure. This color can also convey love and passion, albeit in a more playful, rather than deep, manner. In design, hot pink is used to draw attention, stimulate social interaction, and add a lively vibe to any setting. Its bright hue can invigorate a design, infusing it with a sense of optimism and joy that’s hard to overlook.”

What has been your experience of colors and moods? I’d love to hear from you!
